” The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of
exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at
the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”

I'm guessing it will ever be so. We just have to keep reminding them they are NOT the centre of the universe. They do NOT know everything, and their elders are often quite competent and even intelligent. Eventually, (around age 40) they will come to recognize that and wonder how they ever would have survived without us.  That's my thought, and I'm sticking to it!

I totally agree. They will know some day, as my son is now learning with a little boy of his own. :-)
