And it's still coming down...

Our town came to a virtual standstill today, as the first blizzard of the year tore its way through. The winds were fierce and still are an issue. So far, we have not lost power, which is a blessing with temperatures falling consistently from near -2C to -7C right now and down to to -13C tonight. For those who are fortunate enough to deal in degrees F, that is about +4F.  Damned chilly!

This was this morning, before the "real" snow came down. You can barely see the car now. Neither of us went out. The dog barely made it off the deck... no walk today. We might have blown away.. well, not really, but to look at the snow swirling, it was a distinct possibility!

We are getting ready to celebrate elder granddaughter's 13th birthday on Sunday. I can't believe they are all getting so grownup; and she is turning into such a lovely young girl. I think I found just the gift to make her happy. Will let you know next week. I think all of us will be there for brunch, in spite of Matt's move on the following Tuesday.

For those of you who know and care: NO, the patio door is not here yet. It is apparently in the installer's garage. Fat lot of good that does us with our present door so bent out of shape that opening and closing it is "iffy" at best. The storm door for the front hasn't come either. Oh well. Seems customer service is at an all time low these days.

I find it extraordinary that one can agree to pay almost $2500 for two doors, and neither one is delivered on time. At this point, there is no point in cancelling either because a new provider would take at least 6 weeks to produce other ones. And I'm guessing our fabricator knows that.
There was no work today at Gillian Crackers. Gillian worked on crackers, but there was no postal service pick up this evening, so we didn't get the finished work from her to take to the post office. We will work at her workshop on Thursday and Friday. We have several large orders, which are timely; however, they come when we are already swamped with normal Christmas orders. The last of the US thanksgiving shipping has been done. In case you forgot, this is where to go for Christmas crackers this year:
